Beyond Arbor Week – Arbor Real Estate Agents Give Back Year-Round

While Arbor Week celebrates conservation in California, Newport Beach-based Arbor Real Estate – the region’s leading client-centered boutique real estate brokerage – broadens its philanthropic scope to include a variety of powerful, important causes…not just for a week, but year-round! As a result, the local experts at Arbor are devoted to more than finding you the perfect home, they are dedicated to creating a better community for all of us. Here’s a quick look at how this company and its real estate pros work to give back.

Sean’s Pot-of-Gold

Arbor agent Casey O’Connor promotes a cause very close to her heart. O’Connor started the nonprofit Sean’s Pot-of-Gold in memory of her brother who passed away from pediatric cancer. The organization collects toys, monetary donations, and more for Loma Linda Hospital on St. Patrick’s Day. Due to the increase in donations, O’Connor is hopeful that they will expand to donate gift baskets to CHOC Hospital as well. Donations are being collected until Wednesday, 3/15, at 5:00 PM at the Arbor Real Estate office. More information can be found at arborrealestate.com/agents/casey-oconnor/

The Hopeful Hearts Foundation

Like her colleague Casey O’Connor, Arbor real estate professional Zinat Torres is committed to working with causes that she is close to. With a son born with CHD (congenital heart disease), Torres passionately supports the Hopeful Hearts Foundation, a family foundation that works to fund CHD research. Torres donates a portion of all her real estate sales proceeds to the Hopeful Hearts Foundation and on Tuesday, March 28, will be hosting a fundraiser at SoulCycle in Newport Beach. Spots to be a cyclist are limited and include a $200 donation toward the cause. Find out more at hopeful-hearts.org/events.php.

Stoke a Student

From February to June 2017, Arbor Real Estate is partnering with Surfside Sports in Costa Mesa for its fourth annual “Stoke a Student” campaign. As a Newport Beach–based company, Arbor Real Estate harnesses resident students’ passion for surfing in order to encourage educational excellence. The Stoke a Student contest at Surfside Sports awards surfboards to one enthusiastic student of elementary school, junior high, or high school in the Newport-Mesa area each month. The winner is chosen via a drawing and must have a B grade average or better over the past semester in order to qualify. As a lover of surfing and a supporter of education, Founder and Principal of Arbor Real Estate Chris Brigandi is proud to have launched this campaign in 2014. Arbor Real Estate x The Rob Machado Foundation

As another agency-wide effort, Arbor Real Estate has partnered with the Rob Machado Foundation for the past several years. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides water filling stations to schools and public spaces to encourage the use of refillable water bottles and to help eliminate the use of single-use water bottles – all in an effort to keep our beaches, oceans and environments clean. Through its fundraising efforts, Arbor Real Estate has installed water filling stations along the Newport Beach Peninsula (including at the world-famous “Wedge”) and at the Newport Aquatic Center (NAC). Next up, Arbor will begin installing water filling stations at local schools! To learn more visit arborrealestate.com/blog/arbor-real-estate-hosts-house-party-to-benefit-rob-machado-foundation.html.

Ocean Aware

Ocean Aware is a part-time program started by Arbor’s own real estate pro – and pro waterman – Alan Buchanan. The goal? To teach kids how to handle the conditions of the ocean without swimming aids. As former Newport Lifeguards, Alan and his co-founders believe that Ocean Awareness and safety is important and should be instilled in children to help them have safe, fun ocean adventures. facebook.com/oceanawarenb On April 15th, a team representing Ocean Aware will hit the water water and paddle for 24 hours in order to directly raise money for cancer patients. Arbor Day

While Arbor’s talented and passionate team is focused on giving back to the community through a multitude of different causes supporting a variety of organizations and nonprofits, we also are honoring Arbor Week in California. Real Estate professional Vince Priolo is part of the Newport-Balboa Rotary Club which, since 1969, has provided third-graders at Newport-Mesa schools with seedlings to plant in honor of Arbor Day. The project’s goal is to instill the importance that trees serve in the community and to educate youth on humanity’s role in protecting them. This year, Vince helped the club distribute 2,000 tree seedlings to 33 schools. For more information visit newportbeachrotary.com/arbor-day-tradition/.
