First Lady of Song at Segerstrom This is your chance to experience the fantastic talent of the first lady of song. Guest vocalists Harolyn Blackwell, Aisha de Haas, and Capathia Jenkins join the Pacific Symphony to pay tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday this year.

Make a Difference Volunteering The Orange County Rescue Mission offers a family-friendly volunteering experience every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month. Dedicate a weekend morning to helping others in the community and make a difference.

The lowdown

Where: Meet at the OC Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope and help load up Chili Vans with hot chili, bread, coffee and juice.Volunteers will follow the Chili Van to a local outreach spot, where hot meals will be shared with homeless individuals.

When: Saturday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m.

Afternoon Tea at Sherman Library and Gardens Enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea at Sherman Gardens and take in the beautiful surroundings. Bring your friends and sip tea, and delight your pallet with petite fresh currant & chocolate scones, a selection of tea sandwiches and chef’s selection of desserts.
